BIBLIOTECH CHALLENGE
National technology competition
for children and young people
Competitions and technological challenges are excellent ways to motivate children and young people to showcase their skills and create innovative ideas. The BiblioTech Challenge 4.0 is a national technology competition for children and youth, aimed at encouraging them to develop technological and innovative ideas on issues that affect them, their peers, or their community, while preparing them for the future job market through the development of digital skills and online safety knowledge.
This competition is organized within the framework of the BiblioTech – EU4SocialCare project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, UNICEF, World Vision, the Municipality of Pogradec, and ASDO.
The competition aims to include children and young people aged 10–18, who will engage in brainstorming, creating, and developing technological and innovative concepts through an enjoyable, educational, and challenging process.
Applicants will benefit from a structured five-day mentoring program, during which they will be guided and encouraged to bring their ideas to life.
During these exciting five days, children and young people will be at the heart of the action, conceptualizing technological solutions, gaining confidence, expanding their knowledge, and developing learning habits and teamwork skills.

Exciting learning & pitching
This competition will engage 10-18-year-old children to brainstorm, generate ideas, develop and bring to life technological and innovative concepts through fun, exciting learning and pitching.

Solve problems as a team
The goal of this challenge is to boost and broaden children's and young people’s interest in technology, innovation, human centres design, digital goods and online protection as they learn from one another to solve problems as a team.

Prizes for 3 first winners
Prizes: The challenge will see 3 first winners as per the following group ages:
1. 1st place for 10-12 years old innovators
2. 1st place for 13-15 years old innovators
3. 1st place for 16-18 years old innovators

The challenge is ultimately designed for children and therefore they are expected to come up with the idea and subsequent pitch. The pitches will be judged on factors such as the creativity of the idea, communication of the pitch, the problem it solves, value created and the overall quality.

MENTORS
Experience and knowledge from the best
The applicants will receive orientation and problem-solving experiences through a three day guided mentoring program, helping and encouraging children and young people to bring their ideas to life. In these exciting three days children and young people will lead and drive the conceptualization of technological ideas. They will be engaged in tech experiences, building confidence, growing their knowledge and developing skills and habits of learning.

Tirana
A proud moment for the winning team of Challenge 2.0, held at the Olympic Stadium in Tirana on 6–8 May! This talented group secured First Place with their innovative tech solution, standing out for their creativity and teamwork. Organized under the BiblioTech program with the support of UNICEF and the UK Government, the event showcased the potential of young minds to shape a better future through technology.
Challenge 3.0
Shkodra
From 27–29 October, the Loro Boriçi Stadium in Shkodra became a hub of innovation and inspiration during Challenge 3.0. Young talents from across the region came together to present tech-driven ideas with real social impact. The winning team impressed the jury with their originality and practical solution, proudly taking home First Place. Organized under the BiblioTech program and supported by UNICEF and the UK Government, the event celebrated youth creativity and empowered the next generation of changemakers.
